Speak to me of passion
When my wings are filled with air
And heights do not starve
This sensibility,
When courses run beyond
The limits set by those
Who cut the ribbons,
who tinder them
with raw blind emotion.

Speak to me of passion
When blood runs hot
Upon the pavement of desire
Free from cycling endlessly
In never-ending roadmaps
Of life.

Speak to me of passion
When all that is within
Explodes upon the page,
Upon the canvas,
Upon the air,
In notes that scream
Their birthpangs
In palabratic colour
And sonorous dimension.

Speak to me of passion
When winds give rise
To change and all I need to do
Is catch one breath
And ride it home.

Very captivating, dear Lynda, and the conclusion is fantastic.

Margherita, Linda, James, and Marge... You made my day, or rather, my evening! I don't think people get into expressing themselves poetically unless they care passionately about living! May it touch each of our lives so deeply that we can't help but share it!

hugz....
and thanks,
Lynda

I'm glad you took the ride SES... I know you know that breath. It's how I imagine a magic carpet ride only better! Sharing the experience with people just makes it that much more.

A little bit of hunger can go a long way, can't it dark. I hope I'm never satisfied; with who I am, with who I can become, with how much passion there is in my life and in my writing--and I know I can go the distance if I don't let go of the tail of that breath...

To believe in oneself as others believe... that would be such an achievement.

hugs and thanks for that lovely comment...

Well, Kin, that does it!  Proof positive that we are related!  I cannot imagine my life without passion.  I had to look up "palabratic".  Loved and really felt your poem!

And we haven't even discussed the fact that I used to raise horses! lol. I think we should look into our fathers' lineage! haha...
I saw the passion in your poetry long ago.
