Easy Heart
(A song for Kaye)

An easy heart can be so easily broken
torn so easily in two
a heart filled with eagerness for love
so innocent
trusting and true
so easily shattered for love
drawn to every word, glance,
touch and desire.

your easy heart went
impatient for a chance
to begin
to blossom like a precious
desert rose.
embracing arms held you
warm, comforting and close
and
in the back of your mind
an end to cold desert nights
and your easy heart
hurriedly moved to love
your heart’s passions so true
reasons were right
words between you were kind
and seemed so real
your easy heart gave everything to love
your prayers seemingly
answered from heaven above

to your easy heart
love is so easily given
your easy heart could never know
that in a short season
it would be broken
torn in pieces
leaving your loving spirit silent and alone
an easy heart can be easily
broken in two
so easily broken for love
everything given
nothing in return
your easy heart
gave away to love
and it was gone in a season

plans and dreams
became a charade
cutting your easy heart
like a blade
petal by petal
your heart fell to the desert floor
embracing cold nights
and parched days
a mirage of
chameleon play

your easy heart
counting sins
one by one
and
crying songs each night to heaven
your living-love a regret
but to an easy heart
infinite love is impossible to forget

after a season of rain
and desert wind
your easy heart came to change
a beautifully glowing desert rose
eager to share your forever love
and blossom a new start
when you find that someone special
who will faithfully love
your easy heart…

Listening to every heart

I can hear the guitar of this
in the background, where some
chimes meet it in harmony...

this is a lovely song, JL...

and for me, personally, quite
fitting at the moment, though
it was written for another.

You never do know where a poem
might find itself, do you.

Thank you ever so much for sharing
this with all of us.

P.S. Thank you for your note in "Living..."
your comments are always very special.

JL, this is a beautiful, sensitive, compassionate, poetic gift to Kaye, as only a beautiful, sensitive, compassionate, poetic soul can give.

There is so much tenderness and delicacy in your words here, dear JL.

I enjoyed your sensitiveness in this song very much.

That is the way of the desert rose, that comes after rain when the desert glows
for perhaps a day, till it's roots wane
in the parched sand agaom longing for rain.

Easy heart token, easy come, easy go
defies patient pefection in taking it slow.

... it's hard to be thirsty, indeed!  Such sadness here.  KL

JL, I am sure that Kaye was a lot more than surprised.  I am sure she was warmed by your kind compassion, and motivated to see a new day in a different light.  I am sure that your song/poem has made more difference in her life than you could imagine.

The melody of this song is understanding... and what a beautiful song it is!!

Klassy Lassy: Kaye was pretty much hurt by what had happen to her but in time, she revealed, she would heal.  When she offered her story to me it just broke my heart.  She is such a sweet girl.

-----------
OwlSA: Well I know she was a bit teary-eyed as she read it, but she was really happy that someone took the time to listen to her story then reflect in verse.

----------
Suthern:  You made my day, sweet lady!  Thank you.
