Christmas in a box

Christmas in a box,
brought out once a year,
there's mistletoe, ornaments,
glad tidings and good cheer,
joy to the world, love and peace on earth
all this on one day and all this for one birth.

Christmas in a box,
Box of such a size,
with streets full of homeless
would really be a prize.
They would empty all the ornaments and mistletoe
put it on its side and fill it with there lives.

Christmas in a box,
lesson to be learned,
appreciate what you have and keep it out all year,
NOT the decorations or the Christmas tree,
but the peace on earth, joy and love for you and me.

I couldnt decide whether this was happy or sad earthman. An interesting outlook on this festive season. I appreciate how superficial people can be and how easy it is too overlook importnat things such as the homeless. dx

Something definately to think about here. Lessons that we should keep near all year.
Good writing here... glad you came
pssst... the words look like they could be taking the form of a Christmas Tree.  Shoulda been green..... (just an observation....probably my mind playing tricks on me... too late at night here)

Loved the things you said in this poem.

Sherry, that is a great idea if I left out the breaks and made it green, I never noticed.
The only thing is that green doesn't appear to be an option.

I will keep these thoughts and will be reminded of them every year when I take out the "Christmas in a box".

~ Blessings to  you and yours!
