Between the Lines

my heart isn't in it
when it use to be for the love of it
a journey whose silent cries
reached for comfort
I no longer find
instead challenge
after challenge
emotionless responses
the thrill seeming to fade
along with the tenderness

wanting to silence this voice inside
the one that speaks out of turn
always twisting the climb
making it more hazardess,
cliff hangers edged in suspense
those unknown feelings
painting my thoughts
wondering if I will ever hear
those three words again

carrying fear, wearing it too tightly
the lacings nearly squeezing
the life out of me at times
just because I am who I am
and I feel how I feel
and the uncertainty
obscures my view.

well captured the mood of wonder about those words, the sadness and the suspense

T’is a challenge when you roll the dice
Spin the wheel or walk on thin ice,
Who wait around the next corner there
A bed of roses or a thorny scare,
But what if never a challenge take
How else would the monotony break
So pick up those dice and throw agin
You’ll never know if you never spin

Earth Angel, sometimes I don't know where the "lines" come from ...thank you for reading me
hugging back,

iliana, just my  moodiness

passing shadows, guess we could trade lives, huh? Only I don't want all that rain.

inkedgoddess, suspense gets to me sometimes...leaving me sad

Professor Gloom, well
I will roll the dice several times more
but I never liked to walk on thin ice or take the kind of challenges that can leave me crippled in one way or another.
And I am still looking
for that bed of roses~
Thank you for the  scheme of words.

LeeJ, I am not a fan of walking on eggshells. Thank you Lee for your kind words
