Glimpses of sleep
Drift through my body
And I long to
Follow them--
But I cannot
For the loud, alcohol starving,
Bickering, immature
Nightmares keep me awake.
Yelling
Arguing
Laughing cynically
GO AWAY.

And as I search my soul
They search for drunkenness
As I move forward
Into the future,
They stumble around in
Oblivion.
We move together,
But in different directions.
And I see us drifting away-
We're feathers in the wind
And after this brief swirl
Will be parted forever.
