My Shadow's Path

One of my close friends, Michaela(aka GothicCherry), helped me write this poem...I hope you enjoy it.

My shadow walks behind me
And it sees what I can not
The people who were always around
And the lovers I have sought.

My footprints create a twisting trail
Followed by the dark imprint
It’s lost now due to my wrong turns
Yet it knows the things I didn’t.

I am apologetic for the ones it hurts
But I possess not one regret
My own decisions made me the girl I am
I‘m not ashamed, I’ve no reason to fret.
