There is a sickly sheen To your skin Even in this light at night One doesn’t feel much confidence You’ll be with us for very long I doubt you’re fooled By what the doctors say Religion the various philosophies A shooting star makes its way Across the bay I hear my name as I stand there Quietly from by the window sill And turn around into a gaze . |

I've spent too many nights at a hospital window, looking out on the tops of trees and trying to think about the night. This brings it all back. Effective, and sad. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
