No leaves on the trees

In long coats
With their collars up
We walk in the park
A dim sun in a gray sky
Just above the sea

You say
It’s been a long time

So many years
Have passed away
And still it’s as if
It was just
The other day

Your fingers together
Twisting a sodden
Handkerchief
In the cold spring rain
