The first shopping mall,
downhill from the tenements---
memory dates me.

Strawbridge's, Penney's, Braunstein's,
doorbusters, parking lots, smog.

They sure brought a tremendous change into our world. You say it well and the last word speaks about the most fastidious consequence no doubt.

It was such a shock for the traditional small shops.
