I live near the San Gabriel river here and see a lot of Egrets. The are so beautiful. Your poem is lovely.

Impressive birds, and this is an impressive write. I like your concise description of water surface that "lolls" short of rippling. For the egret, the better to see a minnow dinner through, I suppose.
