BUT . . .

I vont to be alone
for
I feel
battered
discarded
unnoticed
used
trampled on
by
so-called
humanity.

I vont to be alone
with my cat and my dog
and my Heavenly horse, cat and dog
but
there is a tenuous thread
that I reach out . . .
my lifeline
a request
a going
going
gone . . .

I vont to be alone
and soak in the sunshine
in leisure
and pleasure
but the need
to earn an income
decrees
that I must soldier on.

I vont to be alone
but . . .
I am!
Yippee!

And yes,
most
of the time
I am content
to be
alone.
