Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Things taken for “granite”
now seem somehow
feather fragile
in light of
mere mortality
The here today
gone tomorrow
taken to heart
Driven home
in a eulogy
upset my apple cart
Clinging to my
wedded
as if asking
for more tomorrows
Weeping for our inevitable
and the one left behind
