Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Consider
the lowly scab
some skin
just a dab
to hold the ooze in
and the germs out
Can’t help but pickin’
our fingers in a dither
“Leave that alone”
We remember
our mother’s tone
But still we start again
pickin’ at that dab of skin
