    A Winter Moment

Beyond this woodland path,
painted in cold-condensed
  moonlight,
these mountains seem
to fade into a dreamlike
distance without end
beneath an infinite
star-tipped tapestry.
Here my heart is one
with  the frost-kissed
trees of Winter, singing
wind, dancing snowflakes,
and distant evening bells
from the world of men.
A single moment
such as this is worth
far more than all
the treasures that
have ever been.
