Walkin’ Winston is my morning routine. If he has learned nothing else, he has learned that when I put my walking shoes on it is time to get excited. Grab my sunglasses and the leash and the happy wimperoos begin! We are out the door fresh and frisky, fast as his little legs can walk. His nose is going a million mph. There is so much information to sniff out. So many disgusting dainties to digest all along the way! Never misses a pit stop to leave a calling card. He knows the halfway point where we turn around. He is ready and has begun to slow down. Content to stroll by my side his toenails clicking on the black top, on the shady way back. Even in the early morning cool we are both ready for a refreshing drink when we get back home. A dog after my own heart, we hit the sofa as soon as we get inside! LGR©7/12/15 |

Enjoyed the stroll with you, could easily picture every moment. I have a mostly Pomeranian girl. So much fun to walk with, unless I need to hurry. Sniffing and checking/leaving addresses doesn't work well with rushing. You really dressed your walking tempo well. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Thank you! Winston knows the time we usually walk too and stars getting antsy if I run late. We often walk with a friend and her dog. He doesn't like to wait! ~L |

I absolutely know the feeling. Zoe and I are outside sometimes before the sun is even up. I let her choose which way she wants to go in the morning, she loves exploring different paths. In the evening walk, however, I take her the way I want her to go. Its late in the day, no time for play, sniff quickly, do your business and let get the hell back to The Hovel! ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

I have even walked him around the yard in the afternoon when he is bored. He is having a hard time getting used to just hanging out on the porch. He thinks we should be either in or out. He is pretty good about going out in the yard to do his business and not straying but you have to keep an eye on him or he will sneak across the street. Not when it is hot though! He wastes no time taking care of business. ~L |

It is sometimes bewildering how smarter than humans are dogs. enjoyed Jo |

James and Jo I must confess Winky (Winston) and I have not picked up our morning walk routine since returning from vacation. Apparently he missed the longer jaunts as he wandered up to my friends house the other evening while my daughter was supposed to be watching him outside. Little stinker. ~L |
