The Light "You can buy a house but you can't buy a home."...an Evangelist from India living in Hawaii. A book I recently read speaks of the importance of forgiveness of anyone that has hurt us, be it physically or emotionally. This question is ask to the man in the story that is suffering due to parental abuse. "If I gave you one word that had the power to bring physical, emotional, spiritual and financial healing into your life, would you want it?" And as I, the reader, was reading the question I found myself responding positively to the question as eagerly as the character in the book. The lone word is...Forgiveness. Uh, no! In some cases, maybe. In general - depending on the seriousness (like death, maiming, etc. - eye for an eye my friend. And I don't mean the gas chamber or chair. The perpetrator is still here, and the victim is dead or seriously crippled, like the recent illegal that killed the girl ... uh, NO! No forgiveness from me, just raw, emotionally charged rage and revenge! No Forgiveness! j. |

Thank you Jerry and jwesley for the response...jwesley to understand Gods foregiveness we have to go back over 2000 years ago, this is where God shows us how to forgive, as Jesus was being crucified on the cross He said, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He didn't forgive them because what they were doing was right, but so we can see a demonstration of Gods love and forgiveness. Because God loves the world, He gave His son to die for our sins, because man has a sinful nature they crucified Him, but God still loves us and Jesus is Gods plan to forgive our sins, and now Jesus tells us we need to forgive those that hurt us also, as He has forgiven us. When you forgive you release all the negative feelings to Jesus like hurt and pain, anger and hate, and with Gods help and example we are able to forgive...JamesLee |
