The Words The words, they don't come easy now. My thinking process won't allow For joy, a place in a domain Defined by years of grief and pain. But it's alive, there with the peace I found in a moment's release. I just don't have the metaphors To gauge how high an eagle soars... Or measure hope in new found wings. The voice silent, the spirit sings Even so, as I dare to trust Tomorrow it won't turn to dust. Easy to scribe heart ripped from chest, Not so simple to convey rest; Just know I walk contentedly Through this silent serenity. I've never known something so pure. The words will come in time I'm sure. Till then, I'll just watch the sun rise— Smile for the scales pulled from these eyes. Michael Anderson 4/08/2014 |

Personally these two lines, the finale as it were, capsuled the whole poem. quote: Smiling for the scales pulled from these eyes. Still . . . the complete poem is a work of art even though you tend to hold some disdain for it. Not I. Although it isn't Michel's dark, it is just enough of it to make the poem so wonderfully . . . In this poem you use the dark to contrast the light and make the lightness stand out perfectly! This is so you in a different light and it is very flattering Michael! Lori ![]() |
