My heart is too heavy today.
It is dragging my feet
and hanging my head
as it pulls at the corners
of my mouth.
The battle was lost
and I fell defeated
to live and fight another day,
the war wages on.
I grow battle weary.
My counterpart seems invincible,
convinced he is already dead.
