what happened to the years which sped away before my eyes I blinked ten years pasted me by years filled with unhappiness sprinkled with joy those who I cared for have disappeared eh, like most of us I continued on sans the comradeship what else to do I went through the motions many times as I fought loneness wondering if it was all worth it but I plodded on nights filled with fears and tears as I wished for a fresh way of looking at the coming days here I am those days behind me I turned my back on what I used to think essential are not anymore all my worries and fears which beleaguered me day and worse each night you may now find me sitting on a park bench understanding one last final truth I am special unto myself ©May 6, 2018 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
