I have been posting this original form of poetry I call "Septcouplet" for quite awhile;" taken from Septette (A set of seven similar things considered as a unit) and couplet (Two successive lines of verse forming a unit marked usually by rhythmic correspondence; rhyme.) The Septcouplet consists of seven free-style verses, with six lines each, no syllable count. After each verse there are two lines which rhyme, with four syllables to each line. The style is lowercase, except for proper names, punctuation when needed inside the lines, but none at the end of lines. Example . . . desperation scorched his aching heart inner thoughts normal as madness will permit truth and lies comes in at tonnage weight still, if he doesn't use it even a teensy-weensy little bit nobody will know he has a heart leastways a part it isn't as if he hides it no not since the last tears fell just before it broke into jergillion little pieces can't put it back like it was even with Humpty-Dumpty's help he did not try when she said bye what's left of his once vibrant heart hurtful memories strewn among his consciousness whenever he wonders what caused it his recollections are sabotaged by dreams of gingerbread days and Harvest moon and love . . . right there on the living room floor he sees her breasts her hornet's nest splash of bright lights bedazzled the country boy gaunt, big-nosed shambling lad sassy-voiced angel of the night smiled a smile all-knowing eyes, neon-blue electrical sparks zeroed in on the aw-shucks boy shot him a glance ritual dance giggled like a schoolgirl hot breath in his ear serpents' tongue followed his thudding heart, the painful ache her hands sought he uttered a strangled sob she, hard as nails fingers played Braille he found a lump where his throat used to be scent of her roared in his ears faux face painted on a honky-tonk crème de la crème took a long, measured look sizing her coup de grâce he swallowed hard, then grinned the hook was set by sweet Yvette six months have past wedding and honeymoon black thoughts to him her darkness overwhelmed flashes of expert, specialized sex took the lad for a wild ride along with his money and shattered heart she took a train he went insane ©May 27, 2006 ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (01-03-2019 06:12 PM).] |
