“Good enough?” I wonder? Who’s to set the scale? With some, the requisite is small- With others, most will fail. “Good enough?” if that’s the case- I cannot help but wonder… When it comes to matters of the heart, So many seem to blunder? Men are attracted through the eye- And never stop to think, That beauty, like the flower fades… In less time than a blink. Woman on the other hand, Responds to what she hears. Words will open up their hearts- And words will bring the tears. “Good enough?” a place to sleep, To rest my weary head. And sustenance to give me strength, If it be only bread. And maybe, just a single friend- Who understands my frame, A maybe some kindhearted lass, Who will smile to hear my name? If I could but attain to these Although the road be rough, When I lay me down to die- I will say, “That’s good enough.” |

I like this one. Good Enough is a question I think it does us all good to ponder. I don't know about you, but I've come up with more than a few "It'll just have to do". ~L |
