Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Silence in now empty places,
silence fills vacant spaces.
It evokes memories
of sounds they made.
Silence where the children played.
A moment of silence the vent is gone,
silence from a battle lost and done.
Silence in the rooms where bodies are laid.
Silence where the people prayed.
