2:15 AM 2:15 am. hot, sweltering jazz pours out of tenement windows in the harlem streets, alive and simmering. my fingers feel the pulse as a saxophone moans like a wounded animal and I've found myself struck upon the diamond of you. i'm going down... 3:27 am. i saw you at perfect pale moonlight white like a tiger bearing it's teeth rain hit the slate like gene krupa in love spattering liquid nyc color as if van gogh just died, somewhere on 14th. dreams are afire, gaslights and lightbulbs. we're going down... 5:41 am. i know now we will never get out alive, this town is so sweaty, so heavy, so not ready for you. fitzgerald and huxley sit rigid in cafe corners talking up a waitress spilling ink veins for that last precious cup. it's going down 6:01 am and i saw you again, at the twilight's last gleaming, bruised by heady, heady love sun parting it's morning lips to breathe a wistful sigh of relief but i, in my watercolors and brush, at last resort, will go down, down to the river and write my novel there it's all for you, bedroom baby blue. yeah, once more on the breach going down... oh i'll be going down but not out. "Whatever makes you weird is probably your greatest asset"-Joss Whedon |

Yeah, can relate - last time I was in that kind of a funk I went down to Marie Laveau's grave and got me a gri-gri made from the dirt around her tomb. Worked too, for a day or so. Much enjoyed . . . j. |
