Can your emotions change with age? Can an old heart turn a new page? Can a heart who has seen too much, and has even has lived in a hutch; can he be recharged by a smile, and think of it on distant isles? An old man who looked at his life, quite alone now, without a wife. He lives his days, one for the next, in front of a monitor; vexed. A simmering bright light has come, among ashes he found a plum. Though his attachment’s far away, She can make him smile every day. ©June 26, 2017 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
