You liked to hold my hand when we walked. When we were around people you kept Touching me, putting your hands on me. Not protectively, but gently laying claim For anyone's eyes who might be interested In what was yours. Virginia, I never let you know how I felt About that subtle clinging. You asked once Does it bother you that I like to touch you like I do? I just shrugged, turned away, not wanting to Say what I really felt, afraid it would clash With the macho image I had at the time. After all these years I'd like to tell you. face to face how I felt, but it's too late I'm sorry. But your possessiveness, even Though whisperingly delicate, sent jolts of Pride throughout my body. I was so proud You let everyone know I was your man ©Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Well Jerry, I have a sneaking suspicion that you aren't the only guy in that club. Men are notorious for not being able to speak their feelings. I hope you feel better getting it off your chest. ~L |

That's one thing I like about poetry... recording your mistakes enables you to think more clearly and act differently next time. This is very well written and I hope you've had better luck with the ladies since then. Thanks for sharing. |

I did learn that women had those very same feelings, Alana, which made it all the more special. Thank you for being here. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Yes, Cerulean, I learned and was very happy to apply my feelings and knowledge to the women I came into contact with. That's the thing about about learning and loving, applying what you have learned is a sure fire way to reap rewards. I appreciate that you have stopped by. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Jerry- You're welcome. As for what you're doing: Perfect! Learning by trial and error can be a pain, but you have a great attitude about it. Looking forward to reading more of your poems. |
