I have fond memories of my buckskin horse named Riley. A favorite time to ride was in the winter, bareback of course. His winter coat was long and wooly and oh so warm. It was like riding with a heated seat. The best riding was with snow on the ground. The snow provided a cushion to his hooves like shock absorbers. And a cushion to my body when I fell off. There are houses now where I once rode in the snow. Gone is the shed and pen he called home. Gone is that girl that rode bareback in the snow. LGR©11/26/17 |

Wonderful visuals Lori...your ending made me sad just remembering those days of my youth...when life put no demands on us and the sky was the limit. |

I was so young and dumb and scared of everything so it seemed. My horse kept me out of trouble for a while. ~L |
