I guess that I’m a simple man- I make no great demands… A roof, a bed, a bite to eat- Spare time upon my hands. Time to read, and think about- The things which I have read- Some wise, ancient philosopher… Who’s probably long since dead. I’ve heard that life’s a piece of cake- To cheerfully run to meet it… While life might be a piece of cake- It’s awfully hard to eat it. I far prefer some time alone- Enjoy simple pleasures- For peace and quiet are the things- That this old cowboy treasures. |
