Mirrored Image Who is it I see? Why do you not answer? Are you looking for someone? Are you lost? ANSWER ME...ANSWER ME OR GO AWAY! Everyday I see you. Do I know you? Why are you here? What do you want? TELL ME...TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT! Why is it you cry? Do I make you cry? Are you in pain? Show me the pain. SHOW ME...SHOW ME OR STOP WAILING! Who are you looking at? Are you looking at me? Who the hell are you? Don't look at me. DON'T LOOK...DON'T LOOK OR YOU'LL SHATTER! debbie Think of saying "I Love You" as always being overdue. Hmmm.. The mirror is an image done to death. But this has a very nice mania to it that I have not seen before. I like it as it is. |

Hey Debbie I know the feeling. I kinda picture you with your hair standing on end all frizzy. It's a little different than your norm, but I like it. forrest |

debbie, this reminded me a bit of a passage in The Wasteland by T.S Eliot, something along the lines: What is that sound? What? Tell me what you are thinking, I never know what you are thinking, think. I think we are in rat alley where the dead men lost their bones. I like the idea of the questions - but there needs to be some answer or the poem is nothing. Of course, as it is a mirror you are not going to get much coherence out of a mirror image, but maybe the mirror images could reply in oblique ways, eg move in opposite direction to the viewer, actually speak. If, as I think you are, you are trying to convey an inchoacy of understanding the mirror reflection, then this would be amplified by 'answers' that don't answer anything. For example, the answer in The Wasteland "I think we are in rats alley.." Doesn't really tell you much about what the character is thinking, but sets up a certain atmosphere heightening the confusion and inability to convey. -Tim |
