I really don't know how to write anything decent that isn't free verse, which in a sense is kinda pathetic, but whatever. So I was wondering if any of you knew which type of structured poetry one should start off in if one was a amateur-novice. *puppy dog eyes* Please Reply! *stick out lower lip* ^_^ Jill /\/The Editing Queen\/\ |

Hmmm.. well your initial question was a good one and Nan's reply was a good one too but your reply to Nan's reply sorta baffles me! lol.. I think you should try door # 4 and box #1 myself. |

Thanks for pinpointing the forum you discussed sonnets in. And yes I was being serious, but I guess my sarcasm couldn't stay in check last night-I blame the caffeine. /\/The Editing Queen\/\ |

Well...as a person who really can't da dum with a darn, after not only reading the best but hanging out with them and watching them write, I wish you luck. By the way Jill, some of the best poetry is free verse, and as far as I am concerned if you think it, and write it - then heck, that's poetry. However, you don't get a better teacher than Nan to guide you - so I wish you luck and will look for your first sonnet. |
