Is my stuff to amateur or what? The only way I'll improve is to practise  Do you all think my stuff is too repititious or something.. I'm starting to feel unneeded here, like maybe there is a more amateur place I should go.. Please talk to me and let me know what you all think....??? |

Isis... I think most of us are ameteurs. Specifically me. I only know I love poetry. I have books that help me to learn more, I experiment and my audience tells me if it works or not. Of course my family is my greatest fans. As for here I find lots of additional love and support. I am not sure what you are looking for  . But I have enjoyed several pieces that you have posted.I do know one thing, this place is much kinder and gentler than a potential publisher! Not every poem I put out gets a response, even the ones I thought were original and pretty good. I think most of us are amateurs here. Though I have to admit, some are more than that. Keep trying and don't lose hope, keep posting, keep reading. It will come together for you just have patience! |

First, Isis - let me answer your question - You are certainly NOT too amateurish for this forum - That's what Open Poetry is for - to write, to respond to each other - and to refine our skills... Please continue to post - Also observe the numbers of responses that other people receive - I think you'll be surprised to see that the majority are in the same range as you are - Do continue, of course. Secondly, I'm going to be a big ole meanie and lock this thread - This forum is for poetry only; if you want to pursue this point you are more than welcome to take it into the discussion forums....
