I see your fingertips
If I could but touch them
Grasp your hand in mine
And plunge into forever

When first I saw you, I thought you divine
An angel on Earth sent to crush me
When first we spoke my insides churned
A desire that I have never felt
When first we parted I cursed the Fates
And prayed for our reunion

I see your eyes
If I could but catch them
Hold your gaze in mine
And plunge into forever

When second I saw you, I compared you to me
And saw my unworthiness
When second we spoke, I wanted to close my mouth
And sit in awe of you
When first we kissed, I felt my life reborn
And wished that time would stop

I see your heart
If I could but carry it
Bring your life to mine
And plunge into forever

When second we parted, I cried.
