Can anybody tell me why On this, the 4th day of July, We raise a ruckus - shoot fireworks, Get drunk and act like silly jerks To celebrate this land that grew so??? Why? Because we're free to do so!!!!! |

That's not how I celebrate! I gather my sewing kit and put some stitches into my handmade flag..just as Betsy Ross did lo those many years ago. I stand at attention as I drape it over my pianoforte in the parlor and allow myself a small sip of elderberry wine to celebrate my freedom. I say a small prayer for those that died for my freedom on this day. I bake a cake and decorate it in their honor. Fried chicken and corn on the cob are what I serve to the many homeless that are welcome in my humble home. When the sun goes down, I stand in awe of the many fireworks displayed to symbolize the exposion of freedom we have. Then, it's off to the the biker strip joint where I dance 4 nights a week!
