With menu spread between my hands, With napkin open on my vest, I'm hardly in the proper mood For an exacting moral test. I could order just a salad, Eschew items fat or fried, Display indifference to dessert, And thus keep virtue pacified. For virtue feeds on righteous acts. But I feed on steaks and custard pies. So salad, yes--But then the works. I'll make it up with exercise. |
