you are very perceptive jerome, i was reading a little eliot at the time of the compostion of this poem, which was a few months ago. i'm glad you liked the repetition in this instance. here's the translations: -el mundo es un chisto(the world is a joke) -beba y baile (drink and dance) -!beba mas! (drink more) -chinga el mundo y todos los gentes {this is a part that is probably a bit unnapropriate, it means, roughly}: (screw the world and everyone in it) -!no sentimos! (we don't care) it portrays two very contrasting voices, rich-pa |
