looking at myself i wonder how You could ever use me is it in the words i write is it in the things i say who am i to You? who am i to the world so many people so little self esteem in me You give me strength to over come death but little things i can not do who am i to You? seven times seventy-seven i forgave myself but i don't think i can again i feel dirty i feel used i feel ashamed to call myself a Christian because i know i don't deserve to be washed clean in the perfect blood of the only perfect man who ever loved everytime i stumble everytime i fall i wonder why me who am i to You? i am dirty and i am shamed and sometimes i just can't let go i live in my past and fear my future give me strength give me love and i will be okay cause even though i'm dirty You love me just the same cause i am the reason Jesus had to die i am Your child and only You can make me clean. Welcome Allstaria! What a humbling entrance with your lovely poem. Written from a heart full of humility and love for Jesus. Remember, Jesus has already paid the price for our sins, just keep going back to Him, till your stronger. Matt 11:28, "Come to Me and I will give you peace"... Blessings, and looking forward to your next poem. Marcy |

Welcome to Passions, I know you will enjoy it here. Your poem shows the sweet person you are, all sins in God's sight are the same, and like you say in this poem he covers them, and he sees them no more. The hardest part is forgiving ourselves, we are so hard on ourselves, we can forgive strangers easier than ourself. Letting go of the past is easier said than done sometime. It is the best thing to do though, and in time it is possible, as all things are possible with God. We have so many people in this forum that spread love around with no knowledge of our past. This really is a heavenly forum, I am sure you will come to agree. Keep writing, I hope to see more of your poems. |

Welcome Allstaria! Your poem is very humble! I once heard someone say, do you think you're so perfect that you couldn't make a mistake? Is that why you're so hard on yourself? Now, I'm not being hard on you, don't get me wrong. As much as you describe yourself and esteem here, that is me too. And when I heard the above statement, I thought that is totally not how I think of myself. But, we are human, we do sin, we fall short, all of us. Forgiving ourselves is the hardest I think, and it shouldn't be. We can forgive others so much easier than we can forgive ourselves. That's human nature. We are not worthy that's for sure, but that's just how much Grace and Love God gives and has for us. I love your poem and I sure hope to see much from you! I hope you feel welcome and comfortable here. Please check your email for a speical greeting! |

Hi Allstaria, Welcome, I typed a reply to you earlier but I see that it didn't get on the with responses, sorry. This is a very good poem. I think that it is hard for us to forget the past like our Lord does. Once He says it's gone you better believe it is and He will never bring it up again. Jesus allowed Himself to be put to death the most shameful way possible at that time, and He was treated like dirt by the people He was here to save. He always knows how you feel because He also felt that way, no matter what it is He has experienced it. Keep on writing. Bless you, Erie |

One thing I have learned...it is always easier to forgive others...not so easy to forgive ourselves. That's when we need to let God in, and he will not only allow us to forgive ourselves, he will keep those memories in our mind so that we will not transgress again. He will even go so far as to allow us to love ourselves so that we may love others even more. A hearty Welcome to Passions! Sunshine ~~~Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. Allstar, WOW...you will be an allstar soon if you keep pushing stuff like this. This is just a great poem. I am completely blown away by it. I was completely sucked in at the beginning... I feel that way sometimes, maybe that's why I love this poem so much. "you give me strength to overcome death"-great admittance to needing Christ The only thing that I can say critiques wise is this: "and sometimes i just can't let go i live in my past and fear my future give me strength give me love and i will be okay" I would add the line "give me hope" between "give me love" and "and I will be okay" B/c Hope rhymes with go and I think they extra rhyme just would add plus the fact that the writer needs hope any way.
