It is a misty Summers
rain,
the smell of the earth
pungent and sweet.
The fragrance of the
flowers heightened
and intoxicating.
Somehow dear Lord
my heart knows,
this is
the fragrance of You!

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Ah Ellie,
Isn't it invigorating the smell of a summer's rain- that just fills the sense as you breath it in- just as the aroma of God Grace and tender mercies with which he seeks to fill our hearts and lives. This is a beautiful observation-a lovely connection.

What a beautiful way to describe the fragrance of the Lord. It uses all of our senses. What a most beautiful poem. I enjoyed it greatly. Thank you. Sheri.
