Just sitting in the Garden, loving every moment, of this sweet solitude. Soft breezes caressing softly on my cheek. Are they God's little kisses, making me feel peaceful and content? Suddenly, there she is! A huge yellow Swallowtail, butterfly delight, her beauty makes my heart leap with wonder and with joy! She's ignoring all the flowers, and chooses me instead, as if she wants to say, "come fly away with me", or maybe she's a show off, coming closer still, that I might see her beauty, of yellow gossamer wing. Instead I choose to believe, she's sent from heaven above. Tis God's sweet gift to me. His loving way of saying... "My beauty does surround you, be you happy or dimayed. I'll always send these beauties to fill your heart with joy." Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

 Yesterday, as I was picking my wife up from work with kids in the car with us, I had to just stop and look at the beauty of a yellow butterfly, probably a Monarch, amidst a patch of little purple flowers in front of my wife's office. I had my whole family staring out the car windows at the simple beauty of God's marvelous creature. I can certainly understand how this poem was inspired.
