Do you remember how I couldn't fry your eggs like Grandma did? She'd turn the burner way up high and flip the grease, and never, ever, cover them with a lid. The whites would come out lacy brown, a white film covering the yolk. She never turned them upside down on your eager plate, or notice that her little house was full of smoke. I wonder, is Grandma frying an egg for you up in the sky? As pleased as ever when you beg for the kind she makes? And does God keep the firemen standing by? I could never match my mother in laws cooking in the eyes of my sons. I know it always thrilled her for them to say MAMA please cook for me, momma don't know how to do it right. She's up there taking care of your sweet child. I truly believe this. |

Joyce, I love the perspective from which you wrote your poem and included a little humor as well. Very nicely written and therapeutic also as you remember your loved ones and their characteristics here on earth. Perhaps when you arrive to Heaven, you'll find your loved ones right away by following your nose to that distinct location where those Grandma's Eggs will be frying on the grill? Bob <>< |

Other comforting hugs from God, knowing your family is with Him and having fond memories of their time here. This is a sweet little daisy in your flowered field of memories. Thank you for sharing it. Rae |

This cute poem brought back memories of an aunt I often stayed with and she cooked eggs this way on her big wood burning stove. Betty Lou Hebert |
