Life can not be lived in a straight line
It e'er has it's curves and bends,
And so we must prepare ourselves
To be flexible to life's end.

Sometimes life seems smooth sailing
Sometimes life is choppy and rough,
So we need to set sail or set anchor
And respond to life's simple or tough!

Then there are some intervals
Which call for some drastic change,
And sudden turns which come in life
And leave our lives rearranged.

Patience is then a precious key
To help us stay calm and stable,
Depending and trusting on the LORD
Through Christ you are enabled!

Endurance and determination
If Faith and Love in you reside,
Will bring to peaceful waters again
As you in His Care abide.

Life's drastic changes will come
But the LORD is always near,
Go with Him through every change
Hold His Hand, and do not fear!

The only thing that stays the same
Is that change will always abound,
But as we find our Strength in Him
Through change, Blessings will be found!

No Better Place do I know
Than where Hearts knit as
one,
For in that grand
experience,
The Better ALL become.

David how gracefully you've put this! Change is the one thing certain in this life for sure. This is an excellent reminder, and a calming peace to those who go through these troubles everyday.

I hope you'll submit this one to the main site so it can touch many more souls.

David,

I love it!  One thing is for certain change!  What a great analogy in comparing life
with different pathways be it on water or on land.   We are all a busy people on all kinds of pathways and we will all get to where we are going eventually....  very good

David; I'm a little tired of the drastic! I need some peace for awhile! I loved this poem, sure makes sense to go with the flow!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

God is with us in all of our changes, and don't you think he might have a sense of humor too? He needs it to get us through some of our situations. I enjoyed your beautiful poem. Joyce

Everyone can relate to this writing for sure, as there are none without rough times. Yet, it's so comforting to know our Lord is with us in all. Thank you,
