When I was a small tot, My Daddy's arms were strong. He'd hold me on his lap And sing an old church song. And then he'd set me down, And give me a bear hug. Remembering all this, My full heart feels a tug. Mama not to be outdone, Would greet me with a kiss. She included so much love, My small self filled with bliss. My husband, my children All gave unending love. I knew I was receiving These blessings from above. When my grandchildren came To fill my heart with joy. I had my share of hugs From each small girl and boy. Hugs from God, I'm getting, Though given by another. All good things come from God, In one form or the other. Beautiful! the arms He uses are human arms to give the best hugs, for sure! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
