I know sometimes I'm not like What I'm supposed to be I push you to the back of mind Till I'm down on my knees And it's then I realize What a fool I've been Then I make a promise I can't keep again I've promised you so many times That I'd change my ways But I don't want to start right now Tomorrow will be the day When my word is sufficient And I can start to be The God loving Christian You're wanting out of me Another broken promise Another tearful prayer Lord I just don't understand Why you haven't left me here As I flip through my dusty Bible It is then I see Your love lasts forever And your forgiveness for me ~Christina |

The poem made me think of what hypocrits some people are. Going in to church saying "Lord I'm sorry!" then turning around and doing the same thing when they walk out! |

I have to admit I've been one of those lately. Slacking for sure. My Bible was used everyday for years, and lately it hasn't been picked up to often. Gee, could that be why things are so haywire? Could be! Thank you for another beautiful poem! <*\\\>< Where there is faith, there is love. Where there is love, there is peace. Where there is peace, there is GOD. Where there is GOD, there is no need. Hallmark |

I wish every church in the world had your poem on their entrance door. |

You know, it's funny. We call on God when we are down, yet we stray when everything starts going good. Inevitably, we end up down again. But I know God would have us to prosper in all things. I just wonder how blessed one might be to keep the same focus they have when they are down on God after the crisis is resolved. I think we hinder our own prosperity in this regard. great poem...great reminder. Michael |
