Resurrection A crown of thorns~ adorns a head bowed only hours before in prayer Blood~ trickles from flesh once immortal now human Nails~ impale palms once clasped in prayer, laid upon the sick, and stretched out in welcome to His flock Spikes~ pierce feet that bore Him gracefully as He spread His teachings Vinegar~ passes lips that spoke only truth, love, peace and joy Thieves~ hang on either side of Him who knew no sin Death~ claims the body but not the soul... bestowing us with everlasting life ------------------ Alis volat propriis (She flies with her own wings) |

When I think of all He went through in dying on that cross, it makes me ashamed of the little everyday things I find myself whining at. And to think he did it for us... Wonderful poem, Ruth. Michael |

Very beautiful, Ruth. ------------------ Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices. |

Thank you Ruth, for the vivid pictures of our suffering Savior--we all need to see such & be deeply moved by it. |

Very well done Hoot! It reminds me of Psalms 22 when they describe it. Enough to bring tears to your eyes. I also agree with Michael up there. To think of what He endured for us! |

I have to agree with michale myself...I know many of times I have felt ashamed of things I do or feel after thinking about what Jesus suffered for us. And many time I have felt like I did not deserve to have Jesus die for me, but I think about it, and if I did not some how deserve it, he wither wouldnt have died, or we would say hung upon the cross to die for everyones sins accept for M.B.'s (being me)...so I know I somehow deserve it and that has kept me going may of times. But this is a great poem, and the expression you gave about what He went through and why is just absolutely wonderul. Thank you for sharing...and listening to me ramble on ![]() ------------------ ~*~ Time erases and rewrites all the lines. What remains is the poetry! ~*~ |

Magificent weaving of Christ's Passion into hard-hitting succient images. A very impressive work which leads one back to total dependence on our Savior! |
