So many times I’ve done wrong
Listening to the Devil’s song
Keeping my happiness at bay
Because of some little thing you say

Words that hang in the air
Causing anger, hurt, and despair
Meant to wound but not kill
Until the Devil’s had his fill

No longer will I stand silently by
As hot wet tears fill my eyes
I’ll fight you tooth and nail
Even if it’s to no avail

But the victory shall be mine
For in God’s light my heart shines
He’ll restore my courage and strength
Going to heavenly lengths

He’ll be my armor against sin
Every battle together we’ll win
With Him by my side
The Devil will run and hide

No more darkness in my life
Succumbing to toil and strife
The Lord has made me whole again
