When Eden Was a Perfect Place Did God count the many hours While He created man? Did He think about the time While working on His plan? Of all the creatures on the earth, Which were the first who came To stand before the throne of God And hear Him call their name? When Eden was a perfect place And Adam came to dwell, He took a rib from out his chest. Created Eve as well. We cannot know the harmony That must have lived within, Before the serpent raised his head And cursed the world with sin! A different version published by J. Mark Press 2000 with same title. Trillium, It truly is hard to imagine what Eden must have been like, but as your poem signifies to me... it certainly is worth trying. In my mind, thank you for emphasizing the story of the Garden and the beauty that once was there and will be in the life to come. Bob <>< |

yes, a gem of a poem...what a lovely time to ponder...the time when walking with God was perfect and human relations as well, but I understand and believe with my whole heart and mind that it was imperitive that we have a choice to choose God, for what is allegience when there is no choice, candy coating on a fantasy |

This is wonderful. If we could only have kept Eden perfect. Love, Joyce |

WhtDove: Thanks for your complimentary remarks. Glad you liked it. VAS: You are right of course. God did give us choice and undoubtedly knew what our choice would be then and is now. He is All Knowing! Joyce: Thanks for reading and appreciate your remarks. Betty Lou Hebert |

haven't been on here in a long time, this one is really good, what a beautiful rhyme and flow. You know what happened to Eden supposedly? It broke off of Iraq and formed the desert island nation of Bahrain, and there's this tree in the middle of no where in the southern part of the country, and it is supposedly the Tree of Life, i know this from living in Saudi Arabia, but i just thought that was interesting... It would be nice to see the Real Eden! xscoutx |

Very poetic and wonderful to describe the place we all yearn to experience some day. The place of our roots, our beginning. I find beauty in every day places. But Eden was it. Left to our imagination. Thank you for writing so lovely. Sincerely, Rwood |

...Did God count the many hours While He created man? Did He think about the time While working on His plan?... Many questions ponder our feeble minds. These questions may mean nothing after our time on earth. Wondering what Eden really was like, keeps our faith even stronger. Thank you for the thoughts. Melton |

scout: Thanks for the information about Eden. I hadn't heard that version of what happened. I have a grandson who is going to Saudi Arabia next month for an extended stay and I will tell him about this. Maybe he'll be able to learn more about it or even go there. I appreciate your comments. neweyeday: Thanks for reading and making the nice comments you did! rwood: Even in our best flights of imagination, I doubt if we can picture Eden as it was in the beginning. Fun to try though! Thanks. Betty Lou Hebert |
