The poet rhapsodizes over the beautiful rose. I admit he's right in saying that its sweet beauty shows A God of many miracles, too great to understand, So marvelous are the wonders fashioned by God's own hand. The birds flying in the sky and charming us with their song, Could only be from the One who protects them all day long. The mountains, the meadow and stars that are shining so bright, Were created by our Master, who gave us day and night. But the greatest blessing we've received from our God above, Is a gift he gives to all, the capacity to love. He took a piece of his own heart and placed it in our own. If we have tended to it well, it's taken root and grown. And should we take a bit of ours to give to those we meet, We'll find our own has only grown, and never shall deplete. For it is not the being loved that brings the greatest bliss, But giving out love of our own, a piece we'll never miss. By Joyce 7/11/01 (I wrote this after our family reunion, where love flowed in abundance, handed down from our parents and originating with God.) |

Tis a most wonderful gift, that of the family love. How many thousands of times have we not taken totally for gran-ite the selfless offering of our famial ones, that absolutely had to sustain us during duress, or sadness. Its almost overwhelming, isnt't it...when they are all gathered together, the laughing, the sharing, the ultimate Power of Love? *soft smiles* My best to you.....SR |
