There on chilled stone, sat he while the dew dripped onto earth he pondered in reverend thought: Speak to me not of demons who can't cry tears Hobgoblins that swallow the night, and boast of omnipotence. He watched the eagle feather drop its robe drifting silently to the soul light below. It is a great morning that glares its brooding mystery There are spoils, abounding, that decay in infirmity Alas, you have repulsed the thousand-fold rays of enlightening and lurk still in savage lairs. See how the dawn tints your hair You shiver in the warming phantasms of Sol You wear a band of life! yet when two walk there is only one set of footfalls This pilgrimage here need not be in vain tombs are not for the living funerals are not for the dead Colour its pallor with a kiss from the eyes Open your heart to dreams that can't scream and passages that lead not to madness orphan those thoughts of grim despondency Only waking eyes may view the Unfolding. Burdened with truth, his shoulders sagged Inside he churned with a Money-changers remorse As he finally felt his Bankruptcy for the first time. Reaching into his bag, he cast his possessions of green and gold into grievous winds and when he had nothing left but what he arrived with on his birthing day he was finally a rich man at last |

Fantastic! When we are stripped clean we are wealthy in that which cannot be bought! This is incredible writing! Powerful! May it hit home to many. Sincerely, Rwood |

I have also heard it said that when we come to the end of ourselves, that is when we truly find love...very nicely done! *S* |

Very interesting and provocative. God has been telling me some things along this line. See my poem "Of God and mammon" to see what I mean. Very good writing. Stephen. |

Many grateful thanks and smiles to you all: Rwood: we burden ourselves, unnecessarily with physical requirements of possession; seems all it does is turn us away from the true spirit…Thank you, dearly, for your wonderful reply, Rwood! Dulcinea: I think its easier to see clearer the closer to the edge we get. Makes my beliefs even more firm when I reach that point, as the TurnAround happens! So nice to see you and thanks for reading! White Dove: I hope others see the light to how riches are in the Eye of the Beholder, only. The rest are fleeting temptations. Muchos gracias for your kindness! Stephanos: You made some brilliant observations in your poem, ami. When we stop thinking, we stop leaving, right? Thanks again to y'all! smiles |

I liked reading the short naratives and the detailed description of the feelings and emotions that your personage was going though in your poem. I have been there many times as I have wrestled with God over material things in my own life to look back on it all later in thanks to God for His supreme wisdom concerning those things that I truly need and don't need in my life... Prayer does have a way of refocussing our values. -Bob |

It is amazing how consumed we can become with things that do not really matter, yet within this mystery, every element of the experience does matter, It can be confusing, I enjoy your writing, your words give me a sense of peace and well being that says, regardless of how it may appear, it's going to be ok..... thank you, ATOV |
