The Well There is a well near Galilee Where I went in the dawn, To fill my water jugs and then I somehow lingered on. I saw a horde of people come And there I met The Lord, Who radiated love and hope And captured with his Word. I listened to the things He said And longed to understand. I wanted so to touch His robe. The cloth ran through my hand. Enlightment burst suddenly. I knew what I must do. I left my jugs beside the well And followed after too. How long we traveled, I can't say. I was part of a sea Of totally entranced and rapt Worshiping humanity And from His Holy Well, I drew Great values I could hold, To see me onward with my life, Until I reach His Fold! Trillium, Not that I believe in reincarnation, but Bible stories as well as your poem has a way of bringing me in the spirit right there to where Jesus is alive. I felt as if I almost took on the body of that wonderful personification at the well and got some first hand glimpses of Jesus. Excellent story telling. -Bob |
