two pieces inspired by a sermon on “A Good Servant; a Bad Mistress”---(money) birds of happiness flit around over hill above the ground feathers dropping spreading words temptations promises most absurd for money is a servant fine yet as a lover will plague one’s mind the rich young ruler clings tightly to the joy of gold the luster of pearls until his head is filled with swirls spinning thoughts so rearranged madness grows to full derange making choices that maim and claim the joys and light of treasure’s flame leaving ashes cold and old so seek your treasure in heaven’s realm calling on Him to mind the helm © October 28, 2001 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

VAS; I like the way you have put these poems together. I always marvel how one can say so much with such few words. Thank you for sharing this. Wanda |

I really like this.. and these lines "for money is a servant fine yet as a lover will plague one’s mind" nothing could be truer. |

Wow! Both of these were awesome. I liked the message of the second poem better, but they are so true and beautifully worded. Jon "Only God can judge me" Tupac Shakur |
