Lord if I knew you were coming to my house today I would not want to serve you hypocrite pie Made from yesterday's biscuits Layered in a plate Quickly filled with applesauce And sprinkled with cinnamon Thrown together in haste I know Lord you would rather have the real thing Freshly picked fruit from the tree Peeled today Geniune pie dough Rolled out new, with tender care Expecting you master, soon to be here I too would not be content with hypocrite pie Cold biscuits of yesterday aren't good enough For either of us Lord you deserve the very best My intentions are to give you just that Hypocrite pie will never suffice If I want you to be the Lord of my life And what a sweet savor That freshness is Permeating the air Sharing good fruit And purposeful labor We are both blessed |

I have never heard of hypocrite pie, but I love the way you have used that in this poem. It should be the desire of each of us to want to give to the Lord our best. Thank you for writing this. Wanda |

Amen. Like a golden slice of homemade hot-apple-pie topped with a scoop of vanilla icecream, Nothin' better than the real thing.... Nope... somehow these words just don't seem to satisfy my hunger. Yep, I gotta taste the real deal and see for myself..... The Lord is GOOD! -Bob |

This one has a new twist. Fresh and tangy like lemon pie covered with the sweetness of lightly browned egg white peaks. I really enjoyed this. Rae |
