Something just led me to repost this here. This poem is rather cynical, but at the same time, I think, rather spiritual. Uncle Money-Teeth smiled at me and beckoned me To come and stay within his mansion o so great. He said, his teeth shining smiling green, that I could see And visit my old home so far away in times of late. But then, so stealthily whisked across the plains of whispy west, Outside the scope of my perception flew a note, to unmask The lies that Uncle Money-Teeth had told as he had blessed Upon my soul the words so sweetly spoken through his mask. And so, my conscience speaks: to what end was it Why did you give in to words? they say money talks... And I respond: T'was God's great lesson raising mine own wisdom bright.?.. Perhaps I am a fool.. After all, to trust A money mouthed man Rather than a Moral God Is indeed a foolish thing to do... And the response? right indeed, indeed It seems that you are learning lessons more will come "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

Very interesting way of presenting your poem. Mr. Money Teeth? were they filled with gold? I enjoyed it. Joyce |
